Sustainable prevention of
obesity through integrated strategies
Prof. Oddrun Samdal (PhD)
Prof. Oddrun Samdal (PhD) is Professor of health promotion and the Data Manager for the international study "Health Behaviour in School-aged Children, a WHO Cross- National Study" including 43 countries, with core responsibility for the protocol of data collection, and principal investigator for the Norwegian part of this study. She was also principal investigator for evaluation of the implementation of the national programme "Physical activity and healthy meals in school". Currently she is involved as co-principal investigator in the EU-funded FP7 project "Promoting adolescent health through an intervention aimed at improving the quality of their participation in physical activity" and principal investigator of the EU DGV funded project "Development and implementation of a national policy for promoting healthy eating and physical activity for schools in Europe". These projects both address evaluation of implementation of interventions and policies.
